Our Story

I’m Shama, the founder of Modestly a New Zealand-born, Australia-based woman with a love for fashion, comfort, and dressing in a way that feels true to my values.

Modestly's mission is simple! to make everyday life easier for women who value modesty.

For me, modesty is personal. It can look different for every woman, and you do not have to be a hijabi to value modesty. Some women choose modesty for faith, some for comfort, some for confidence, and some simply because they feel their best in clothing that gives them more coverage. At Modestly, all of those women are welcome.

Our focus is on corporate and casual modestwear, pieces that are practical, comfortable, and easy to wear in real life. Whether you are heading to work, running errands, attending meetings, going out with family, or just wanting to feel put together. Modestly is here to make getting dressed feel that little bit easier. 

I know how hard it can be to find pieces that are not too tight, not too short, not see-through, and still feel stylish. That is why Modestly is moving towards clothing that is thoughtfully designed with real women in mind.
